Sister Helen Prejean at Nazarene Church

Run For Cover Bookstore and The Tim Spann Memorial Fund welcome, Sister Prejean, world renowned death penalty abolitionist and author of “Dead Man Walking” and “River of Fire” who will be speaking and signing her books at First Church of the Nazarene on Sunday, February 23 @ 6 PM.

Sister Helen Prejean, CSJ, a member of the Congregation of St. Joseph, is known worldwide for starting a dialogue on the death penalty. She wrote the bestselling “Dead Man Walking” and set out, through storytelling, to bring citizens close to the hard realities of the death penalty system in the United States.

 

A reception will follow the event.

Tim Spann was a life-long activist who devoted his time, dedication and passion to the goal of abolishing the death penalty in the United States and around the world. He was a long-time member of Amnesty International, of San Diegans against the Death Penalty and a board member of The International Museum of Human Rights at San Diego. After Tim’s sudden death in August of 2018 his friends set up the Tim Spann Human Rights Memorial Fund to honor his work and his memory.
